Bienvenue en France!
On behalf of the TradeWinds team, Craig and Barbara welcome you “aboard” for your stay at Château Alizés at Le Chaufourg – we are confident that you will enjoy your time with us.
We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so feel free to ask us if you need anything extra or have any questions and we will try our absolute best to accommodate you.
Château Alizés is a very special place indeed. Originally the family home of the famous French photographer, Georges Dambier who converted the mansion into a hotel, the property has hosted many famous guests over the years due to Georges success as a photographer in the 1950s and ‘60s with magazines like Elle and Vogue. We still have lots of old magazines featuring his photographs, likewise most of the furniture and décor was originally selected by Georges and his wife Francoise.
Georges said many times in his life, that while Paris was his favourite city, he was always happiest at Le Chaufourg. We hope it’s the same for you.
Wishing you a great week with us in the beautiful Perigord region – you’re in for a treat of fine wine, authentic food, homegrown vegetables and the sweetness of life that is so quintessentially French.

Living in the Countryside
Look and appreciate. Some flowers are delicate, and some insects will sting. Our best advice is to enjoy but don’t touch.
Our countryside environment is a delicate ecosystem. Please take only pictures and leave only footprints. We ask you not to pick the flowers in the grounds but rather enjoy them and then leave them for others to appreciate.
Please take adequate care when walking around the property as there may be tripping or slipping hazards, especially when wet.
Environmentally conscious
TradeWinds is exceptionally proud of its commitment to the environment, and we continuously strive for a greener planet. This takes effort, interest and commitment.
As our valued members and guests, we know you will assist us, the environment, and our planet, by joining our hands in this worthwhile effort.
As far as possible, we use disposable, biodegradable plastics and paper, natural cleaning products and continuously endeavor to incorporate many other Eco-Friendly products.
We only get one chance, there is no reset.
